Recent Event: The Games Convention in Germany

The Games Convention (sometimes called the Leipzig Games Convention, and abbreviated as GC) is an annual video game event in Leipzig, Germany, first held in 2002.
Besides videogames, the event also covers Infotainment, Hardware and Edutainment.
The Games Convention is usually held in the last week of August. The Games Convention 2007 takes place from August 23 to August 26, 2007. For more information: http://www.gc-germany.com
The GC Developers Conference (GCDC) that was held a month back had a record attendance of over 900 (650 delegates in 2006) from 35 countries. Sixty percent of the attendees came from abroad to this year’s GCDC, the majority of which came from North America and the UK, the leading countries in game development. The conference also included a significant number of developers from Eastern Europe demonstrating the conference’s growing reach across Europe as well. Click here to view pictures.

Visited Computex 2007 in Taipei from June 5 to 9, 2007 at the Taipei World Trade Center Exhibition and the Taipei International Convention Center -à Computex Taipei is heading into its 27th year to consolidate its standing as the world's second largest IT show and highlight Taiwan's position as the leading IT supplier to the world.
Major exhibits at the show included computer systems, components & peripherals, communications, motherboards & cards, storage equipment, optoelectronic products, digital entertainment devices, software, security systems, IC application, IP telecom, car electronics and embedded products.
The 2006 fair surpassed projected attendance with about 30,000 overseas buyers and a total of over 130,000 visitors, generating on-site orders and sales worth around US$12.5 billion. Representatives of all industries, sectors, and companies from regions and nations around the globe milled about four spacious Taipei World Trade Center halls housing 2,907 booths to browse, network, source, and exchange. Taiwan show features the latest in information technology.
